For some reason I remember seeing more of him last night. Apparently Ian Somerhalder played a bit of a trick on his co-star (and supposed actual girlfriend) when filming this scene.  Entertainment Weekly has the story.  They also have the video of the above scene too.  Here's hoping there's lots more sudsy Damon this season!
